GoodHope Asia Holdings Limited is a Singapore based company having its Oil palm business in Malaysia and Indonesia, whose parent company is a well-established diversified regional conglomerate having. Other business interest in Breweries, Financial Services and Leisure sectors in South-east Asia. Our dedicated Management Services companies, well known in the industry for efficient in management & dynamism in outlook, are responsible for managing and operating high quality plantations producing above industry average yields, and is aggressively pursuing towards development of up to 100,000 Hectares (currently having approximately 60,000 Hectares planted) and processing facilities on its own in addition to plantations through joint venture companies within the next 3 to 4 years.

The business model of Agra Group Plantations is to build and expand sustainable plantation projects in the region focusing on adopting the industry’s best practices and deriving operational excellence. We envision becoming a fully integrated player in the industry value-chain to ensure long term sustenance of our business.
In line with our expansion plans and commitments for growth, we are now seeking to recruit high caliber and dynamic professionals to be based in Indonesia.

1. Head of Agronomy

Responsibilities
You will be overall responsible for Agronomy policy development for the Group to ensure maximizing of site yield potential & adopting of uncompromised standards for sustainable plantations development and management, benchmarking with the industry sustainable practices and monitoring the effective implementation of agronomy policies. To this extent you will be required to continuously scan the environment and ensure the assessment of emerging trends /requirements in the industry & develop networks and contacts with research institutions, agronomy experts, industry specialists etc
Overlook and supervise the quality assurance and control activities in all Plantation companies, and provide guidance for Development of estate management teams to adopt up to date agronomy & quality standard practices

Develop an efficient applied research base within the plantations and ensure the presence of updated agronomy databases, continuous assessment of site potential of new plantation locations, ensure the adoption of IT and GIS/GPS technology to effectively carry out block wise management

Responsible for fertilizer recommendation programs for all Group companies in consultation with external appointed Consultants.

In Consultation with External consultants, Plantation Advisors & Director Plantations, assessment & implementation of work programs relating to appropriate water management systems, various types of soil management during plantation development projects etc and ensure best agronomy practices are carried out to obtain maximum yields

Supporting the implementation of RSPO requirements in Plantation Estates and actively guiding the management team towards obtaining / maintaining certification.

With the growth in scale of operations and successful management of operations in Group’s plantations, this position would entail a clear career path to be developed into a Director position.

Person Profile
Masters in Agriculture Sciences from a recognized University and having multi-disciplinary skills, an MBA in addition together with extensive industry experience will be a distinct advantage.
Extensive experience in Palm Oil industry with at least 10 – 12 years at senior managerial capacity in a medium to large organization
Competent in Statistical Analytical techniques, knowledge of GIS & its application is desirable
Good knowledge & experience in Environmental management systems & sustainability
Ability to lead and motivate a team of diverse professionals
Proven leadership skills, conceptual ability and business acumen

2. Group Agronomy & QA Manager

Responsibilities
You will be overall responsible for reviewing the harvesting and all agricultural practices in plantation estates and advice estate management on better methods to achieve higher yields at the lowest possible cost.

Further you will ensure the smooth operations of Quality assurance function by establishing stringent agronomy audit processes in Plantation estates and analyze agronomy data, investigating for the exceptions and reporting progress to the Head of Agronomy, General Managers for continuous further improvements

Assist in development of Agronomy policy for the Group to ensure maximizing of site yield potential & adopting of uncompromised standards for sustainable plantations development and management, benchmarking with the industry sustainable practices and monitoring the effective implementation of agronomy policies.

Supporting the implementation of RSPO requirements in Plantation Estates and actively guiding the management team towards obtaining / maintaining certification.

Ensure the presence of an effective Agronomy field training at all plantation estates based on audit findings & continuous development of estate management towards adaptation of uncompromised agronomy practices. Implement effective Agronomy Training & development programs for Plantation Management in coordination with Human Resource Development unit.

Person Profile
Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Sciences from a recognized University and having multi-disciplinary skills, an MBA in addition will be a distinct advantage

Extensive experience in Palm Oil industry with at least 6 to 8 years at senior managerial capacity in a medium to large organization

Good knowledge & experience in Environmental management systems & sustainability
Ability to lead and motivate a team of Agronomists

3. Research & Development Manager – Agronomy

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to develop an efficient applied research process/ system within the Plantation Units and ensure the availability of an updated agronomy research base, Facilitate the conducting of studies & research on harvesting techniques, spraying & weeding techniques, pest controlling, storing, seed germination etc & advice the management on a periodical basis

Carry out leaf sampling / folio analyses / extensive trails & research in-order to recommend suitable fertilization regimes in order to maximize site yield potentials, applying variations in weather factors, soil & terrain conditions, irrigations conditions etc and advice management on best practices/ determination of suitable agronomy policy for enhancement of productivity

Continuously scan the environment and ensure the assessment of emerging trends /requirements in the industry & develop networks and contacts with research institutions, agronomy experts, industry specialists etc and ensure plantation estate work programs are aligned towards implementation of best practices for enhanced crop production, sustainable plantation management as well as long-term cost competitiveness

Carryout field training & development of estate management teams on enhanced skills based on updated research applications

Person Profile
Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Sciences and specialization in Research Methodology from a recognized University
Extensive experience in Palm Oil industry with at least 5 years as Senior Research Manager heading the R&D function
Competent in Statistical Analytical techniques, and Good knowledge & experience in Environmental management systems & sustainability
Ability to lead and motivate a team of diverse professionals
Proven leadership skills, conceptual ability and business acumen

4. GIS Manager

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for enhancement of overall plantation estate performance through assessments & advisory services by adopting GIS & remote sensing techniques, facilitate through the production of digital estate maps, soil maps, topography maps and slope maps etc in contribution towards enhancing overall plantation estate performance standards

Assist in precise agronomy management & monitoring of estate performances in-order to enhance yields/ productivity etc and enable Estate Management focus on Planning Trends in crop yields and analysis/ forecasts to assist management in effective decision making

Carryout feasibility & assist in land suitability assessments/studies for potential land being sourced & making recommendations for suitability & appropriate agricultural practices, provision of Support services such as desktop study, map preparation, etc. and further assist in the Planning for the new plantation developments and replanting programs etc

Provide support to Agronomic Advisory Team by exploring and adopting useful GIS and remote sensing techniques for monitoring pests and diseases, delineating poor palms, discriminating leaf and soil sampling zones, point mapping, assessing planting pattern etc

Supporting the RSPO auditing program and actively assist in guiding the management team towards obtaining / maintaining certification. Provide specific guidance using GIS tools such as Contour maps, Slope maps, High Conservation Value maps, Catchments and watershed assessment, Drainage maps etc

Facilitate in building a competent management team capable of supporting the long-term plantation development plans and enhancement of overall plantation estate performance

Person Profile
Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Sciences and specialization in Geology froma recognized University

Extensive experience in Palm Oil industry with at least 5 years in Managerial capacity heading the GIS function Competent in Statistical Analytical techniques, and knowledge of GIS & its application is essential Good knowledge & experience in Environmental management systems & sustainability

Ability to lead and motivate a team of diverse professionals
Proven leadership skills, conceptual ability and business acumen

5. Regional Controller

Responsibilities
You will have overall responsibilities in managing a business unit in a Region of 50,000 – 60,000 hectares of plantations, comprising of new land development projects, immature & mature plantations within Environmental and Social sustainability standards. You will ensure the effective and efficient implementation of operation level business plans and budgets, and achievement of set targets. Towards this end you will supervise, coordinate and provide leadership to the heads of each plantation operating units.

As a member of the senior management team, you will assist in the formulation of strategic and business plans, and in reviewing and updating policies, procedures and systems, and in adopting industry best practices. You will also evaluate and overlook the implementation of special projects and initiatives at operational level in order to enhance overall productivity and to achieve operational excellence across all processes and systems.

The position calls for a high level of working knowledge and experience in independently managing a region and executing its business plans in operating units.

With the growth in scale of operations and successful management of operations in Group’s plantations, this position would entail a clear career path to be developed into a Director position.

Ideal candidate should be within the age range of 44 – 48 years.

6. General Manager-Plantations (to be based in Plantations)

Responsibilities
You will have overall responsibilities in managing a business unit of 20,000 – 25,000 hectares of plantations during land development & immature stage or matured stage. You will provide leadership for effective implementation of operation level business plans and achievement of Key targets within Environmental and Social sustainability standards.

As a member of the senior management team, you will engage in reviewing and updating policies, procedures and systems, in adopting industry best practices. You will also evaluate and implement special initiatives at operational level in order to enhance overall productivity, cost management and achieve operational excellence.

You would be required to independently manage and ensure a motivated workforce and further ensure the provision of required resources for implementation of the business plans/ wok programs at plantation level

With the growth in scale of operations and successful management in plantation operations in Group’s plantations, this position would entail a clear career path leading to a Regional Management or Advisory position.

Degree in agricultural sciences or related fields, an MBA will be a distinct advantage
Extensive experience in the oil palm industry with minimum 8 – 10 years in senior managerial level
Good knowledge & experience in Environmental management systems & sustainability
Ability to lead and motivate a team of diverse professionals

7. Plantation Managers (to be based in Plantations)

Responsibilities
You will be overall responsible for planning & ensuring the required resources to carry out land development & planting activities of new plantations upto approx 15,000 Hectares in-line with the business plans, directly supervising Estate Managers & ensure adopting the best land development, environmental standards and agronomy practices.

You would be required to Plan and ensure the development of an efficient infrastructure within the plantations to facilitate cost efficient operations. Further, ensure immature maintenance activities are carried out in an efficient manner to derive highest level of productivity in labor and machinery, and determine appropriate systems for continuous monitoring and improvement.

Demonstrate maturity in developing and maintaining harmonious relationships with the villagers and authorities, including the development of PLASMA plantations.
